Calculation of Surface Impedances Using Method of Moments
Abstract
In this paper, a method is introduced to calculate the surface impedance of a periodic structure using the Method of Moments. The approach uses a formulation of the surface impedance utilizing S-parameters. The S-parameter are calculated with a modal reflection tensor, based on the theory of characteristic modes. The method is validated with an infinite square array consisting of square patches and yields good agreement when compared to different calculation methods.
