Electromagnetic Compatibility

“Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)” refers to the ability of a device or system to function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without introducing unacceptable interference into this environment. Taking appropriate measures to ensure this property is required by law and is regulated by international standards. EMC is a horizontal discipline that affects all areas of electrical engineering.

The lecture deals with basic concepts of EMC, explains couplings on an electrical engineering and field theory basis and shows measures to improve EMC.
