Free Space VSWR Method for the Uncertainty Analysis of Full-Vehicle OTA Measurements
Abstract
This paper introduces a spatial filtering approach to the free space VSWR method for enabling the uncertainty analysis of room scattering in full-vehicle OTA measurements. As shown, the targeted spatial interference pattern due to reflections of the chamber can thus be correctly separated from further spatial path loss and antenna pattern scan effects, which occur in near-field systems with electrically large quiet zones. In addition, the automated evaluation of free space VSWR measurements is enhanced, which is also beneficial for large quiet zones where many spatial VSWR scans are required.
